Work listed on its website
Summit Appraisal & Consulting provides depreciation reports for strata corporations in the BC Interior and insurance replacement-cost appraisals in the West Kootenay and Boundary regions. Its broader practice also handles residential and commercial market appraisals and consulting assignments. These services are kept distinct from insurance valuation. The company publishes a phone/text number and general email, and directs new appraisal requests to an online form. Its different geographic scopes are preserved rather than assuming province-wide coverage for every service.
Ask the company for an itemized scope for your building.

Questions councils ask
What should council compare in report proposals?
Ask who will write the report, whether a site visit is included and how the firm will document its cost and timing assumptions.
Can an appraisal lower our premium?
Not by itself. The Act requires the strata to insure on the basis of full replacement value (s.149) and to review its insurance every year (s.154). An appraisal checks that value. An out-of-date one can leave the building over- or under-insured, so ask your broker whether a new one is due before renewal.
What should the appraisal cover?
Ask for a written list of included buildings and common assets, any exclusions and the proposed update cycle.
